Who we are
TD Ordering is published by TechDevs. TechDevs operates through two registered entities:
TechDevs Pte. Ltd.
Registration 201914008G
TechDevs Sdn. Bhd.
Registration 1351101-H
TD Ordering is a business application. In most cases you use it as an employee, salesperson or authorised user of a business that licenses the software from us. That business decides what data is entered into the system and who may access it; TechDevs provides and maintains the software on the business's behalf. Where this policy and your employer's own internal privacy notice both apply, both should be read together.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
02
What we collect
- Contact and account data. Your user name and login credentials, the company or connection name you sign in to, your assigned role and permissions, and session timestamps.
- Business and transaction data. The records you create and view in the app — customers and debtors, sales orders, quotations, cash sales, credit notes, AR payments and receipts, inventory and item data, pricing and cost information, outstanding bills, credit limits, and document approval history.
- Location data. Geographic coordinates captured when you use location-linked features such as visit check-in and check-out, route visits, and maps. See section 03 for full detail.
- Visit and activity data. Customer visit entries, check-in and check-out times, route assignments and visit status, and any notes, signatures or photographs you attach to a visit or document.
- Media you provide. Photographs you take with the camera or select from your photo library and attach to a record, and barcodes you scan with the camera.
- Device and technical data. App version, platform and OS version, device model, network connectivity state, a Firebase push-notification token, and diagnostic logs.
- Crash and usage diagnostics. Crash reports, stack traces and basic usage events collected through Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics so we can find and fix defects.
The app does not read your contacts, calendar, SMS messages, call logs, health data or files outside what you explicitly select.
03
Location data
TD Ordering accesses your device's location. Location is used to record where a customer visit took place, to support route and visit management, and to display customers and routes on a map. Location is never sold, never shared with advertisers, and never used to build an advertising or marketing profile.
What is collected
When you use a location-linked feature, the app reads your device's approximate and/or
precise coordinates (latitude and longitude), together with the accuracy reading and
the time of capture. On Android this uses the ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION and
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION permissions; on iOS it uses Core Location under the
"When In Use" or "Always" authorisation you grant.
When it is collected
- Visit check-in and check-out. Your coordinates at the moment you tap check-in or check-out are stamped onto the visit record, so the business can verify that a customer visit was made and where.
- Route and visit management. Coordinates recorded against route visits to update and confirm visit progress.
- Maps and navigation. Your position is used to centre the map, to show your position relative to customer sites, and to hand off a destination to your preferred maps or navigation app.
Location is read at the point you perform one of these actions or while a location-aware screen is open. TD Ordering does not run continuous background location tracking, and it does not monitor your movements when you are not carrying out work in the app.
Background location
The Android build declares the ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION permission, and
the iOS build declares "Always" location usage, to support visit and route features
that may need to capture a location while the app is not in the foreground. This
permission is only ever used for the visit and routing purposes described above, and
only if you separately grant it. You may decline background location and continue to
use the app with foreground ("While Using the App" / "Only this time") location.
Your control over location
- The app requests location permission before first use, and the operating system prompt is the point at which you grant or refuse it.
- You can change or revoke location access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services (iOS) or Settings → Apps → TD Ordering → Permissions → Location (Android).
- On iOS you may also turn off Precise Location to share only an approximate position.
- If you refuse or revoke location access, the app continues to work, but visit check-in and check-out, route visit updates and map positioning will be unavailable or incomplete. Your employer may require location to be enabled as a condition of using those features.
Who sees your location
Location captured against a visit or route record is stored with that record and is visible to the business you work for — typically your supervisor, sales manager or administrator — through the same back-office system that holds the rest of your work records. It is transmitted to and stored on the server operated by or for that business.
Bluetooth and location
The app uses Bluetooth solely to discover and connect to receipt and label printers. Bluetooth scan results are not used to derive your physical location.
04
Device permissions
Each permission the app requests is tied to a specific feature. You may decline any of them; the related feature will then be unavailable.
| Permission | Why the app asks for it |
|---|---|
| Location (precise / approximate, foreground and background) | Visit check-in and check-out, route visit updates, and map display. See section 03. |
| Camera | Scanning item and document barcodes, and taking photographs to attach to records. |
| Photo library | Selecting an existing photograph to attach to a record, and saving generated documents. |
| Bluetooth (scan, connect, advertise) | Finding and connecting to receipt and label printers. Not used for location. |
| Notifications | Delivering order, approval, payment and alert notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging. |
| Local network / nearby devices | Reaching your AutoCount or company server on the local network to sync orders, customers and inventory. |
| Storage (older Android versions) | Saving and opening generated PDF documents and reports. |
05
How we use it
- To provide the product — creating, syncing and fulfilling sales orders, quotations, cash sales, credit notes and AR payments, and keeping customer, pricing and inventory data current on your device.
- To authenticate you — verifying your login, maintaining your session, and applying the access rights your business has assigned to you.
- To record field activity — logging customer visits, check-in and check-out locations and times, and route progress on behalf of the business you work for.
- To notify you — sending push notifications about order updates, approvals, payments and other operational alerts.
- To support you — investigating problems you or your business report to us.
- To improve the service — diagnosing crashes and defects, and understanding which features are used so we can prioritise development.
- To comply with law — meeting accounting, tax, audit and other legal obligations, and responding to lawful requests.
07
How long we keep it
Business and transaction records, including visit and location records, are retained for as long as the business you work for maintains an active relationship with us, plus any further period required for legal, accounting, tax or audit purposes. Diagnostic and crash data is retained for a limited period for troubleshooting. Data cached on your device is cleared when you sign out or uninstall the app. Where the business you work for is the owner of the records, its own retention decisions also apply.
08
How we protect it
Data is encrypted in transit and access is restricted to those who need it. On your device, your session cookie is held in the platform secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore), and application data is stored in the app's private sandbox, which other apps cannot read. Access to records within the app is governed by the role and permissions your business assigns to you. Sessions expire automatically after 8 hours and require you to sign in again.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Please keep your login credentials confidential and tell us or your administrator promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
09
Where it is processed
TechDevs operates from Singapore and Malaysia, and our service providers may process data in other countries. Where data crosses borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards and require our providers to protect it to a standard consistent with this policy. Where your business hosts its own server, your business records — including visit locations — reside on that server, in the location the business has chosen.
10
Children
TD Ordering is a business tool intended for use by employees and authorised users of our business customers. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
11
Your rights
You may ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, or ask us to delete it. You may also object to particular uses or withdraw consent where we relied on it — including withdrawing location permission at any time through your device settings.
Where the records belong to the business you work for, we will normally refer your request to that business, since it decides how its records are handled. Contact us at sales@techdevs.com and we will help route the request.
12
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services change. The date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. Material changes to how location or other personal data is used will be reflected here before the change takes effect in the app.
